We have been providing a variety of health and social care services in partnership with statutory organisations and private clients throughout the Central, Fife and Lothian Regions.

“Back in 1994, after taking early retirement as the Clinical Services Manager for the Community Nursing Services I established Margarot Forrest Care Management. Almost immediately I was asked by a Consultant Neuro Anaesthetist to assist her in taking home a gentleman with spinal injuries who required mechanical ventilation. He had been a patient at the Queen Elizabeth Spinal Injuries Unit in Glasgow for almost two years. I liaised with the Health and Social Work Services and his family to facilitate his smooth transition from hospital to home.

A short while later I received a phone call from a lady living in The Hague, who had heard about us and also needed help to get her sister home from the Queen Elizabeth Spinal Injuries Unit. She had been a patient there for two years due to the difficulty in finding a care company able to fulfil her needs at home, as she required mechanical ventilation and lived in rural Stirlingshire. Liaising with the community health professionals and the spinal unit I was able to recruit, select and train a team of care workers with the necessary skills to look after her at home, where she lived independently for the following seventeen years.

MF Care was working with Forth Valley Community Health Services and gained a reputation for providing specialist services for people requiring complex care. We were approached by them and piloted  a successful Winter Crisis Care Service which we provided this for the following six years before its transfer to the Social Care department.

In 2003 my son Simon Forrest joined the company, bringing an extra dimension to our service with his experience in community health and social care settings – as a Registered Nurse Adult Branch and a Registered Nurse, Learning Disabilities.

MF Care Management has grown over the years and is working in partnership with Health and Social Care Services in the Falkirk, the City of Edinburgh and south west Fife.”
